BZLZHH 32c79f4135 [Feature] (EGL): Wayland window surfaces, presented through wl_shm
A Wayland client's window is its own wl_surface, and what the compositor shows is the wl_buffer
attached to it - but the pixels of a MobileGL frame are drawn where the backend is, on a split
build in another process on another OS. So far a wl_egl_window was taken for an X11 window and
its client-side address sent to the Android server (EGL_BAD_NATIVE_WINDOW at best), and under
glvnd a Wayland display never reached this vendor at all.

A window on a Wayland display - asked for as EGL_PLATFORM_WAYLAND, or a wl_display recognised by
its first word being wl_display_interface - is now a window surface in the EGL state at the
wl_egl_window's size with a pbuffer of that size behind it in the backend, whatever
MOBILEGL_IPC_SURFACE says. At every swap the frame is read back out of the default framebuffer
through this library's own glReadPixels (the application's read framebuffer, pack buffer and pack
state put back as they were), its rows flipped and swizzled into a wl_shm buffer, and attached,
damaged and committed on the application's wl_surface. Three buffers rotate on their release
events, dispatched on an event queue of the surface's own. libwayland-client is loaded at run
time, so neither the build nor the library depends on it. EGL_KHR_platform_wayland and
EGL_EXT_platform_wayland are announced on Linux.

Measured: glmark2-wayland runs its build scene at 13 FPS (400x300) and the window shows the frame
under kwin. A window resize is not followed yet; the surface keeps its creation size.

# ------- Android API level policy: minimum 26, decided here and only here -------
# MobileGL ships against API 26: the codebase must not use any API introduced
# after 26. That usage constraint is enforced where it is real - the shipping
# gradle build compiles at minSdk 26, where a newer API is simply undeclared
# and fails to compile. Configuring at a HIGHER level is therefore allowed
# (nothing in the tree may rely on it), but a LOWER level would change the
# libc contract underneath the shipped library and is refused.
#
# This has to live at configure time because the level cannot be corrected
# from a source header. A `#define __ANDROID_API__ 26` in a common header
# only rewrites the macro for the bionic headers that happen to be included
# after it; any libc++ header pulled in earlier has already latched its
# feature macros at the real configure-time level. libc++ and bionic then
# disagree about which symbols exist - libc++ calls e.g.
# pthread_cond_clockwait while bionic, re-read at the lowered level, has
# hidden its declaration. MobileGL/Defines.h carried exactly that pin from
# the first commit until it was removed; this guard is what replaces it.
#
# Read the level back from the compiler target triple first. Its trailing
# number (aarch64-none-linux-android26) is precisely what clang turns into
# __ANDROID_API__, so it cannot disagree with the compile itself, and it is
# already past every NDK normalisation step - codename aliases, "latest",
# and per-ABI minimum pull-ups. ANDROID_PLATFORM_LEVEL is the fallback for
# generators/languages where the triple variable is not populated.
#
# Note CMAKE_SYSTEM_VERSION is deliberately NOT consulted: it holds the API
# level only under the NDK's newer toolchain path, and is a meaningless 1
# when ANDROID_USE_LEGACY_TOOLCHAIN_FILE is on (which is what AGP has been
# defaulting to). Reading it would fail every legacy-mode build.

# MobileGL can serve as a glvnd EGL vendor - the library the system's libEGL.so.1 dispatches to -

# P0 spike A: the Android delivery chain for a second native executable.
#
# The disaggregated design needs a server process on Android (PLAN-B.md §8.1,
# inheriting PLAN.md §11.1-§11.6). An APK's only exec-able install location is
# lib/<abi>/, and the packager only puts a file there if it is named lib*.so -
# so a second executable has to be built with an .so name and exec'd out of
# getApplicationInfo().nativeLibraryDir. This target is the stub that proves the
# chain end to end: it is packaged like a library, exec'd from the app's own
# untrusted_app process, and writes a marker the parent reads back.
#
# Off by default and ANDROID-only, so no shipping configuration builds it. The
# trace flavour of the plugin APK turns it on (android-plugin/build.gradle).
# ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
# ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
# P6 `sm`: the REAL server image. Unlike MOBILEGL_BUILD_SERVER_SPIKE below - the
# P0 spike, which links no MobileGL library and exists only to prove the Android
# delivery chain - this one links the library and runs mobilegl_server_main.
#
# ARCHITECTURE.md:496 called for a ~30-line stub that dlopen's libMobileGL.so and
# dlsym's the entry point, so one shared library serves both roles. On a desktop
# configure we link it directly instead: there is no APK packaging rule to satisfy
# and a direct link is what makes an undefined symbol a BUILD error rather than a
# runtime dlsym failure in a child whose stderr is /dev/null.
#
# Android keeps the lib*.so naming and the nativeLibraryDir output the spike
# proved is the only exec-able location in an APK.

# $ORIGIN, OR THE SERVER CANNOT START AT ALL ON ANDROID.
#
# This executable links libMobileGL.so, and it is EXEC'd rather than dlopen'd - so it gets a
# fresh linker namespace with the default search path, not the app's. An APK's lib/<abi>/ is
# not on that path, and the failure is the bluntest one there is:
#
# F linker: CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE ".../lib/arm64/libMobileGLServer.so":
# library "libMobileGL.so" not found: needed by main executable
#
# It cost a device run to find because it is invisible on desktop: CMake gives build-tree
# targets an absolute RPATH automatically, so the WSL server resolved its dependency through a
# path that does not exist on a phone. $ORIGIN says "beside me", which is true in the APK, true
# in the build tree, and true wherever somebody copies the pair - and it is what makes a
# deployment that is NOT a build tree work at all, which the end state is.
# THE PROPERTIES, NOT target_link_options. A raw `-Wl,-rpath,$ORIGIN` reaches the generator
# unquoted and the SHELL expands $ORIGIN to nothing - measured on device, where the linker
# said `normalize_path - invalid input: "$"` and then failed to find libMobileGL.so anyway.
# BUILD_RPATH / INSTALL_RPATH are the supported spelling and CMake escapes them correctly.
